June 14th, 2011 (Tuesday)
woke up early morning as couldn't sleep well
travel to the bus station in very blur mood
took my expensive breakfast there
(compare to busan)
and get the earliest bus to Gwangju
it's around 10 something
just left Murphy a msg online before i leave
slept through almost the whole trip but woke up at the resting area
was kinda excited because i expect it to be something like japanese
but it's kinda out of my expectation again
nothing much to see nor buy inside
so went back to the bus quickly
and sleep for another half of the trip
when reached, contact murphy through gtalk
luckily there's wifi available
since murphy is going to have exam
i had my lunch at the bus station before another travel to
Chonam National University
so my 1st lunch in Gwangju
T.G.I Friday AGAIN
cuz it's right beside the place i get my wifi connection
today i try something different
it's chicken (yesterday was pork)
i found out that
service in both TGIF i visited are a bit different
and the food also
service for Gwangju is better
but the taste of the food sucks...
the chicken was too sweet and the onion ring was too oily
after that, took bus to CNU
was kinda lost cuz i don't know which bus to ride
then found the bus route somewhere
and took quite a long time to reach there
now i'll talk about how i feel about Gwangju
it's RURAL
i expected it to be something similar to Busan
(or a bit lesser)
it's something like Teluk Intan in Malaysia
(but bigger) OMG
i really wonder how Murphy them survived in the past 3 months
finally reached...
but 1 station next
so walked back and find the Starbucks that i supposed to wait for murphy
but then the only Starbucks there is closed for renovation...
OMG... what should i do
go to the Tom n Toms Cafe next door
get a drink (some really tasty drink i got)
and get online to find murphy
i wonder was his exam ended
it's ended but Murphy was no longer online
posted on Vinny's post to ask her to contact murphy
but no reply
so i used the public phone in front
nobody pick up the call
i wonder did i use the phone correctly...
i was so nervous till Vinny replied
and Murphy found me XD
walked back to his dorm that located far far away
and took shower before they left dinner
with the rest of the Malaysians + their Ms. Kim

thanks to her i got a Korean Fan that i wanted to buy
dinner tonight was 찜닭
the very spicy chicken i ate in Seomyeon
i don't have the chance to see the "legend"
as the food is for sharing
really thanks their "ms. kim"for treating
actually we paid the bill but she asked for refund
and she paid again... so you can do that in korea
then 2nd round
coffee bean for some drink
the guys don't have anymore spaces for any dessert
as we finished everything in the dinner
so murphy and i share a
Jasmine Dragon Phoenix Pearl Tea
that's the only thing i wanna try
but it's quite expensive
5,200 won (almost RM15) for jasmine tea
it's really taste like Jasmine tea LOL
and the girls shared 2 pieces of cake
heard a lot of Gwangju lifestyle from them
+ saw the action from the legend
while it happened
the reaction of everyone was so so so funny
really LMAO
when i realized something unusual happened
i didn't really know what's going on
but then i knew it later when other told me
something disappeared LOL
since the night was very young
of course I didn't wanna go back yet
'so we walked around for a while
and called the girls who supposed to go shopping'
we went to karaoke together
and we moved to 4th round
it's time for Makkori
searched for the place where they said it's nice
and we ordered a set of appetizer that looks good
but one of it was really spicy and the other contained beef
which Murphy can't take both of them
really had fun with the people there
it was a great night
i'm supposed to sleep in Jimjilbang
but since it's so late already
so i just slept with Murphy
realized that, his bed is so small
bed in DSU is much larger
(luckily phy didn't snore that night)
June 15th, 2011 (Wednesday)
woke up early in the morning for the bamboo forest
but Vinny was late as she couldn't wake up
we even called her few times already
so we waited in the restaurant for breakfast
and they called up a friend
a really funny girl
we walked together to the bus stop for the bamboo forest
(thanks to the map prepared by Florence)
as we walked in the very big university compound
it's the national university, standard is always different
another long distance ride and finally we reached
(around 1 hour)
what i see was a hill of bamboo
but we couldn't get this scene in malaysia
took a lot of photos again
and we reached the other end of the park
shooting scene for 1반2일
and it's the 1st time i see 4 leaves clover
of course i'm not the one discover it
it's given by a person who works there
then we walked back again
with shortcut in between
took some delicious + expensive lunch before leaving
it's the bamboo rice & sizzling pork
with a lot of side dishes again
the bamboo rice taste really nice
full of bamboo aroma
but the amount was a bit less for 10,000won (~RM30)
and the pork chop taste really good too
as always i eat very slow, so murphy always grab me foods...
took another hour back to CNU again
didn't really rest and it's about time to go out for the last night in Korea
+ it's also last night in Gwangju for some people
actually we were 1h late for the meet up
i thought it's already delayed
this time, we're going to the downtown of Gwangju (our Seomyeon)
another bus riding to the town
maybe around 30 mins to reach the town
1st stop: dinner which is supposed to be at the other end of the town
somehow, either the restaurant is already closed down
or they forgot the way to the restaurant
it's kinda sad as they said the food over there is really delicious
so we searched for another restaurant on the way
ended up some nice looking italian restaurant
this restaurant suck till the max
they spent long time in preparing the food
& the food doesn't taste nice at all...
the main problem is
i still wanna visit Hats on
i wanna get a new era cap before i leave korea
at least, heard a lot of funny incident while waiting LOL
at least we finished our meal in time and get to Hats On
a lot of caps, the design are better than MIB
also spent a lot of time on choosing the cap i really like
there's 2 choices
i didn't know which to choose and ask the lady boss for comments
and i chose the not recommended one as it's not good to wear in hot weather
but i really like that design (the one below)
but i'm not the only one bought cap
3 girls also bought one for themselves, so total 4 caps together
but there's only 1,000 won (~RM3) discount for each of us...
and Murphy been begging for more
the shop is even closed and waiting for us
thanks to this, we missed the last bus
and we didn't know that until a bus we saw didn't want to pick us up
and it's hard to get taxi to ride 5 of us back
luckily, there's one so we did save a lot
and another karaoke session... (again)
we didn't want it to end so early since everybody is leaving
June 16th, 2011 (Thursday)
it's time to go back to Malaysia after almost 4 months time away
woke up early in the morning cuz need to accompany the girls to Seoul
get to the bus stop again in Taxi + bus tickets to Seoul
another long ride back to Seoul with Florence and Lili
was CHEATED when we reached our destination
a man with trolley was helping us to carry our bag
and he didn't took us to the taxi but a van
he said this is cheaper compare to taxi
it's somehow expensive also since our destination was near
so we refused and he took us to the taxi stop unwillingly
and charged us 5,000 won for the bag carry
never thought that this kind of incident happen in Korea too
so we got in 2 taxies
and the taxi i'm in somehow rounded me through the river of 63 building
it should be in that direction...
from the map, Seoul National University is only few stops from our places
and paid around 10k for that ride, unload the luggage in High Park hotel again
then meet up with the girls at the subway station
luckily it's easy to meet them up since they know which exit they should go
moved to Lotte Mart right after they checked-in in another guesthouse
because i wanna get fresh Ginseng + Kimchi + dinner
(since food in airport is really expensive)
didn't bought kimchi there as too heavy
together with our very late lunch from Lotte mart
(but ate in the food court)
then it's a goodbye to the girls
time for airport
Airport :
rushed to the airport as i need to claimed my luggage
another long ride...
got my luggage and repack my stuff so that everything can be fitted into one
spent quite some time on this and i did it
ate my dinner and had my teeth brushed before checking in my luggage
when checking in
kinda shocked with the language i heard
it's Hakka... it's been ages i didn't hear this kind of dialect
+ lot of Malaysians... sort of back to Malaysia again...
i bought 30kg and mine was 1.9kg extra
excluding my hand carry & a laptop bag
phew~ no extra charges LOL
FINALLY
i'm checking out from Korea
bye bye to my Alien Card
i hope to see you again
but did my last shopping before departing
(bought kimchi there...)
most of the shops are closing as it's kinda late already
in the departure hall
the people there was less than expectation
i thought that most of the people are late
but actually the flight wasn't full
i think only a quarter is filled
so i'm taking 3 seats in the flight
kinda lucky
else i couldn't sleep with the narrow space
flight at 2350 and reached Malaysia around 4am+
